Marks of Sissy Ownership

 The slave is owned and its body must bare the marks of that ownership.

Marking is a practice found generally within BDSM and more commonly in M/s dynamics. This practice includes both temporary and permanent. Temporary marks include bruising from either whip, crop, or cane and permanent marks come in the form of body modification by tattoos, piercings, and brandings. The use of permanent markings in BDSM is to allow an individual to declare their affiliation or commitment. In M/s, this type of marking serves an additional purpose, beyond identification, by documenting the slave's progression in their transition to deeper levels of enslavement.

First Tattoo

The starting point is a tattoo of the symbol that represents the practice of BDSM which is typically installed at the small of the slave's back. However, given that many practitioners of BDSM including those beginning a pursuit of M/s typically already have this symbol tattooed somewhere on their body it does not need to be applied again.

Second Tattoo

The next modification is the installation of a tattoo of a black heart or spade above the slave's chastity cage. Given that BDSM is a fetish (an "abnormal" link to a particular form of sexual gratification) and those pursuing M/s possess a very strong interest, this tattoo serves as a warning to the vanilla world that the slave is not going to be satisfied by vanilla practices.

Piercings 

The next modification is a series of piercings installed into various parts of the slave's body starting with the nipples, then a series along the line between the scrotum and the anus, then a Prince Albert to properly secure them into the chastity. The purpose of these piercings is to allow the slave to better serve and to be more easily restrained or led by the Master. This would appear to be extreme for a relatively new slave but it has been proven that many practitioners have many if not all of these modifications prior to entering into the M/s dynamic.

"Slave" Tattoo

The next set of markings is a return to tattooing with the installation of a tattoo containing the slave's registry number which is placed on the left forearm near the wrist. "Sissy", "Slave", or some form of degrading marking also be added to the area above the chastity or lower back. An additional tattoo representing the Master's house is installed on the left butt cheek. These marks represent the acknowledgment by the Master that the slave is bound and owned.

Hair Removal & Second "Slave" Tattoo

If the slave seeks a TPE-level dynamic then more extreme modifications are applied. A potential modification is a slave must maintain a shaved head, remove their eyebrows and have a tattoo containing the word "Slave" installed on the back of the neck. If the slave has to enter the vanilla world it is presented a wig to conceal some modification in order to deter persecution by the vanilla. When in the presence of the Master or within the Master's house a TPE-oriented slave would be required to be naked and to wear a slave hood at all times to present a more dehumanized look.

Given that the vanilla world generally abhors BDSM, these modifications are typically subtle enough that the vanilla would very easily overlook their meaning. But the true purpose of this modification is to clearly identify the slave to others who pursue an active interest in BDSM as well as to make it more difficult to conceal itself from the vanilla world. No slave seeks to be persecuted by the vanilla world but at the same time, it wants to more clearly identify itself as the slave because in doing so its demonstrates the level of ownership that has been acquired by the Master. The slave does not seek attention for itself. Instead, it attempts to personify the power it has transferred or surrendered to the Master.

Each of these modifications must be earned by the slave representing the level of progress realized by the Master. As this collection of modifications grows over time the truth becomes ever clearer that this slave is not some sort of "player" and is instead actively engaged in a 24/7 lifestyle relationship.
